There has been an exponential increase in spam posts lately, and this calls for some preventive measures. These rules have been revised and fit into the existing forum rules, so it is important that you take note of it, if you don't want your posts to be deleted or warned.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE SPAMS

Spams are usually associated with e-mail and other types of advertisements in the net. But this type of spam relevant to forums we are talking about is of a different nature.

In forums, spam defines short messages, usually one-liners that don’t hold any significant purpose or meaning. We discourage this sort of posts and would like to encourage our members to post messages that hold not only their opinion but also emphasizes the reasons behind their views. Post which are off topic and doesn’t contribute to the discussion is also considered as spams.

Examples of spam:
“Thanks.”
“I agree, he’s sooo hot”
“hahahah this is funny”
.. and others along those lines.

If you want to make sure your post is not a spam post, make sure that you include more in your posts =) extra information doesn’t hurt

Any spam or irrelevant posts or topics will be deleted by the mod and we will keep track with how you are going. After your 5th deleted spam post, we will PM you and warn you, from then on you will get another 5 chances. After your 10th deleted spam posts, your post count will be reset to zero.

There are also posts that, even though it responds to the topic and not counted as spams, it didn’t contribute to the thread because no arguments and justified personal opinions are offered. We discouraged this kind of posts, and we hope our members can continue contributing to the oishii-hoon.net community by posting meaningful, relevant and justified personal opinions in their posts.

Hope this helps you to recognize and eventually avoid spam posts, and hopefully this would improve the posting standard in this forum.

Also, please take note of 3 of our new added rules. As time passes by, rules always needs to be revisited to make sure it aids the forum in the best possible way. Thus we revisited the rules and added this few extra rules we think needed for bringing the best of oishii-hoon.net =)

The new rules are as follows:
QUOTE

8. No double posts; please use the edit function instead of double posting. Double posting could be counted as spam.

9. Please credit all sources; when posting something that you took from another site, please credit them properly, a link is optional. Also when taking stuffs out oishii-hoon.net, please credit us properly {eg. Username @ oishii-hoon.net} a link would be lovely =)

Dear fellows,
please try to say more in your posts, don't just post up a short line such as "Thank you for sharing." ^_^ Though it's very nice of you to speak out "Thank you" (it's better than you don't speak at all), but still, you can always find something interesting to include in your posts. If every reply in a thread is "thank you for sharing", the thread wouldn't look great, would it? Thank you for understanding :)

And I'm sorry for bumping up this thread so suddenly :eh:
